Dr. Fran Wickham 1951-2011

The following email was sent to faculty and staff at Bishop Kelly yesterday (Wednesday, January 19):

It is with great sadness that I inform you that our fellow faculty member and dear friend, Fran Wickham passed away at 9:30 am today. We will miss her very much and cherish the time we spent with her. May God bless her and give strength to her family.

We are so thankful to have known and loved such a special person!

Know we will be making some plans for us to gather at school and pray for Fran. I know this will be difficult but together we can support our community and each other.

With my love and support,

Robert R. Wehde
Principal
Bishop Kelly High School

Fran Wickham

Fran’s obituary is here.

There is also a guest book here.

Tom Vitrano, the head of Theology here at Bishop Kelly, will be giving the Eulogy at Mrs. Wickham’s memorial next Tuesday. Tom has asked if our Parents, Students, or Alumni have any anecdotes or memories that they would like to share with him as he prepares. Please email alumni@bk.org, or post your memories here. If you could help us spread the word to the BK Family it would be much appreciated. Tom also mentioned that he would share everything he receives with Fran’s family.

Mrs. Wickham was an incredible woman who touched many lives in her years here at Bishop Kelly. I know that there are some wonderful stories out there that need to be shared!

She was a wonderful teacher, a nice lady, and will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers go to her family.

Wow, I wish I would have known.  I loved Mrs (now Dr) Wickham.  She was always accepting of me and my friends even though we were not Christian.  Her class was one of my favorites at BK.
